Must Get Up
Core Feature

Lockout Timer

After you dismiss your alarm, Must Get Up locks. For 30 minutes to 8 hours, you cannot re-enable, re-set, or modify your alarm. The decision is made. No going back.

Why Lockout Matters

Even without a snooze button, people find workarounds. They dismiss the alarm, then immediately set a new one for 10 minutes later. Or they turn the alarm back on and try again. The lockout closes that workaround inside Must Get Up.

Once you dismiss your alarm, the App enters lockout mode. You cannot create a replacement, re-enable the alarm, edit it, or delete it. The home screen shows the remaining countdown.

Removing snooze is only half the idea. The lockout also stops you from dismissing the alarm and immediately creating a new deal with yourself inside the app.

During Lockout

  • Cannot re-enable any alarm

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the lockout last?

You choose 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, or 8 hours when you set the alarm. All options are included in V1.

Can I turn off the lockout timer?

No. The lockout timer is a core feature and cannot be disabled. If you could turn it off, it would defeat the entire purpose. The lockout ensures you can't set a 'just in case' backup alarm.

What exactly is locked during the lockout period?

You cannot re-enable, replace, edit, or delete the alarm. Must Get Up keeps the alarm controls locked until the countdown ends.

What if I need to set an alarm for a nap later?

You'll need to wait until the lockout period ends. This is intentional. Must Get Up is designed for your main wake-up alarm, and the lockout prevents the cycle of 'I'll just sleep a little more.'

Does the lockout activate if I dismiss the alarm on time?

Yes. Dismissing the alarm starts the lockout immediately. This prevents a second alarm from being set right after wake-up.

No quick replacement

The lockout timer makes sure your alarm means something.
